DIREITOS HUMANOS NA IDADE MÍDIA

Esta comunicação faz um recorte temático sobre a importância das mídias na consolidação dos Direitos Humanos e realiza um breve relato sobre o significado e o processo histórico de construção desses direitos. Debate-se que as Mídias, mais precisamente a Internet, assumiram um papel relevante na disseminação, entre os povos, do conhecimento desses direitos, na fiscalização do seu cumprimento, especialmente em países de regimes totalitários, e principalmente na sua consolidação como uma conquista da Humanidade. O principal objetivo desta comunicação é justamente demonstrar a consolidação dos Direitos Humanos através das mídias, especialmente da Internet, destacando a ação não apenas de organismos oficiais nacionais e mundiais como, também, de organizações não governamentais, todos empenhados em assegurar a observância desses direitos. Desse modo, esta comunicação oferece um panorama da situação dos Direitos Humanos no Brasil e no mundo, evidenciando tudo o que vem sendo feito com vistas a efetiva consolidação desses direitos, de modo especial o uso da Internet como fator de disseminação do conhecimento e fiscalização em todo o Globo.

HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE MEDIA AGE
ABSTRACT: This communication is thematically focused on the importance of media in human rights strengthening and it develops a brief report on the meaning and the historical process of these rights construction. It is verified that media, specifically the Internet, have assumed an important role in spreading among people the knowledge of those rights, supervision of their compliance, especially in countries with totalitarian regimes, and mainly in its consolidation as an achievement of Humanity. The main goal of this communication is to precisely demonstrate the human rights consolidation through media, especially the Internet, highlighting not only the actions from national and worldwide official institutions, but also the actions from non-governmental organizations, all of them committed to assure these rights. For this reason, it is possible for us to provide an overview of the human rights situation in Brazil and in the world, showing everything that has been done to an effective consolidation of these rights, especially the use of the Internet as an instrument of knowledge spreading and supervision throughout Globe.
