OS DISCURSOS DE PERIÓDICOS SOBRE O PLEBISCITO NO PARÁ, EM 2011 E O REFERENDO NA CATALUNYA, EM 2017

O Pará foi o pioneiro a ser contemplado com plebiscito sobre novos estados. A Catalunya já experimentou alguns referendos acerca da sua separação do território espanhol para constituir um Estado independente. Neste paper compreendemos como foram apresentados e quais os discursos dos jornais O Liberal e Diário do Pará sobre o Plebiscito no Pará, em 2011 e dos periódicos El Mundo e La Vanguardia em relação ao Referendo de Independência da Catalunya, em 2017. Utilizamos o modelo investigativo de análise crítica do discurso (ACD) referenciado por van Dijk (2005) para observar as relações de poder inseridas no contexto de disputas discursivas midiáticas. Constatamos que os jornais paraenses se opuseram ao surgimento dos estados do Carajás e do Tapajós. Por sua vez, os diários El Mundo e La Vanguardia polarizaram o debate, defendendo posicionamentos antagônicos.

THE JOURNAL’S SPEECHES ON THE PLEBISCITE IN PARÁ, IN 2011 AND THE REFERENDUM IN CATALUNYA, IN 2017
ABSTRACT: Pará was the pioneer to be awarded a plebiscite on new states. Catalunya has already experienced some referendums on its separation from Spanish territory to form an independent state. In this paper we understand how the speeches of the newspapers O Liberal and Diário do Pará were presented on the Plebiscite in Pará, in 2011, and of the periodicals El Mundo and La Vanguardia in relation to the Catalunya Independence Referendum, in 2017. We used the investigative model critical discourse analysis (ACD) referenced by van Dijk (2005) to observe the power relations inserted in the context of media discursive disputes. We found that the Paraense newspapers opposed the emergence of the states of Carajás and Tapajós. In turn, the newspapers El Mundo and La Vanguardia polarized the debate, defending antagonistic positions.
